Bushman working on new album
It's been three years since Bushman released an album, a drought the roots singer plans to break this year.
Whyne Dung is the title of his new single, which was released on January 19 by his Burning Bushes Music label. It is expected to be on his still-untitled album, which is scheduled to be out by summer. It will be his first full-length studio project since Your Life in 2021. While not going into detail about the album, he said that he plans to promote it properly once it is released, and hopes the set achieves the ultimate in music recognition.
"There are many parts of the US that I haven't been to for a while, so my goal is to get back on the road, in the face of our fans, and earn new fans; and even get nominated for some awards, like the Grammy," said Bushman.
Whyne Dung marks the beginning of a "strategic alliance" between Burning Bushes Music and My MM Productions out of South Florida, a company that has enjoyed significant success with acts such as Luciano, J.C. Lodge and The Greaves Brothers.
Best known for roots anthems such as Downtown and Grow Your Natty, Bushman said that his new song sums up his outlook on life.
"The inspiration to write Whyne Dung came from a typical day in my life, just interacting with people and observing how they live; the things they take for granted and the things they cherish. Sometimes I just observe people and wonder if they realise that their time a 'whyne dung', and they need to make the most of opportunity when it comes," he said.
