Concert promoters in Guyana have started an infernal buzz in the country with the announcement of the Nigy Boy and Burna Boy concert scheduled for Wednesday, May 1.

The event is expected to be a magnet for thousands of music lovers in the CARICOM territory, and it will take place at the National Stadium in Georgetown, the nation's capital.

"I think Nigy Boy and Burna Boy on the same stage is expected to be cataclysmic and bound to create history," Nigy Boy beamed. "It will be pure magic and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to perform alongside a global African icon, as this will clearly take dancehall and the reggae culture to exciting new spaces."

Nigy Boy is thrilled that he is also building a solid fan base in Guyana, having just wowed a large audience there only a few weeks ago. He clearly made a positive impression on his first trip and Guyana has quickly become one of his favourite regional performance destinations. And with Guyana sitting on US$150 billion in oil and gas reserves, that nation is rapidly becoming the new regional epicentre for high-end, state-of-the-art music concerts.

Nigy Boy made headlines in January with his smash single Continent. The video for his follow-up single, Judgment, had its world premiere in New York on PIX11 TV.

"As a result of the more than 12 million views so far for his two chart-topping singles, Nigy Boy is nearly booked out for the summer months and into the fall with USA, Canada, Caribbean and UK/Europe shows," his manager, Chris Crooks, revealed. The artiste is also scheduled to perform on Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica on July 20.
