Reggae royalty, multifaceted creative and entrepreneur, Cedella Marley, has joined forces with Atlanta-based clothing brand RepJa to fight for the safety of Caribbean women with their Protect Caribbean Women campaign.

Founded by designers Omar Thomas and Prince Graham, RepJa (Represent Jamaica) clothing taps into every facet of Jamaica and draws inspiration for each apparel design from its rich culture. The Protect Caribbean Women campaign is a dedicated initiative by RepJa, which is aimed at fostering positive change in the lives of Caribbean women who have endured abuse, violence and injustice.

Thomas shared that they have partnered with Marley and the Bob & Rita Marley Foundations to support Mary's Child in Kingston. Mary's Child provides a safe home and spiritual environment for pregnant teens and teen mothers.

"With every purchase, you're not just getting a tee; you're supporting positive change and contributing to the safety and empowerment of Caribbean women," he said. Marley said it was a "no-brainer" to join forces with RepJa and the campaign.

"I've always been so proud of my heritage as a Jamaican woman. The rising level of violence against women in the region, especially our girls and young women, is disturbing and disheartening and something has to change. The Bob & Rita Marley Foundation has a long-standing partnership with Mustard Seed Children's Home, so we were able to work with them and Rep Ja on this collaboration," she said.

"It's not just important, I believe it's a requirement that we use our voices in this way. Our visibility comes with a responsibility. Besides, just because a woman has achieved success in her chosen field doesn't mean she's immune to uncomfortable and unsafe situations. We are all in this together," she added.

Marley spoke highly of her mom Rita, who she said taught her to embrace her womanhood and see it as an asset.

"I've been blessed with a living example of how to carry on through the hardest times in life and still have faith, grace, and a heart that holds love rather than bitterness. She teaches with more than words; she teaches with her very life," she said.

The RepJa brand is heavily supported by celebrities including Safaree, Skip Marley, Ding Dong and Masicka.

The founders of RepJa are currently on the island collaborating with local celebrities and shooting promo content for their website and social media pages. They are set to visit Mary's Child to speak with the women about the campaign.
