For reggae artiste Rohan Hardi Hard, mothers are more than just life-bringers, they form the bedrock of society.

That is why he is pushing a new R&B-influenced song dedicated to mothers titled I'm Doing Fine, where he reflects on the impact his mom has had on him throughout his life.

"This song is my tribute to my mom, my story. We don't need Mother's Day to remind us that moms are symbols of light in our lives. But it's always good to show appreciation and reflect on the impact the moms in our lives have had on us; my mom is my hero, my first and biggest fan," he said.

Rohan Hardi Hard, given name Rohan Robinson, uses a joy-infused beat combined with heartfelt lyrics to express the true appreciation he holds for his mothers and, by extension, all mothers.

"Without our moms, none of our successes in life would be possible. Most artistes know that our moms have been constant muses, either providing the foundation for a song or the first supporters of an artiste long before he or she would go on to make it," he said. The single was released on his own label, Hardi Rock Entertainment. He released a video for the project two weeks ago, generating 100,000 views in two weeks.

The artiste grew up in Lucky Valley, Nain district, St Elizabeth. He developed a love for music, and at age 13 he began to attend stage shows under the mentorship of an older artiste. At age 15, he met his stepfather Delroy Melody.

"I started to follow him to the studio and stage show and get more involved, and my love and dedication to my craft started there," he said. Rohan Hardi Hard migrated to the USA when he was 19 and he continued to fine-tune his skills.

"After I arrived in New York, I started to do music on my own and started going to the studio to record my own songs. Whenever I return to Jamaica, I do the same," he said.

He is also working on an EP which is co-produced by singer-musician Derek Barnett, who is signed to his label.
