YGF Records crafting recipe for success

It's been a fruitful journey for Young Generation Fraternity (YGF) Records since the St Ann-based label made its grand entrance on the music scene over eight years ago.

Spearheaded by producer Tevin Richards, the label has crafted its recipe for success, creating top-quality productions with stellar artistes, both local and international.

"My recipe for success is to keep proving the naysayers wrong," Richards said. "Throughout my career, I kept dreaming and my dreams are turning into reality."

The label is still reeling in the success of the January 2023 release of the single Narcissistic, a collaborative effort featuring dancehall heavy hitters Valiant and Stalk Ashley. With more than 27 million views on YouTube and more than 6.6 million streamswwz on Spotify since its release, the track is arguably one of the biggest hits to come from YGF Records. Other notable releases include the 2018 EPs, Gifted and Growth, which featured local artistes such as Shenseea, Devin Di Dakta, Vershon and African dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

In addition, Richards has worked with a host of talented acts such as Vanessa Bling, 450, Byron Messia, Jahmiel and Jahvillani. The producer has also done significant work with dancehall artiste Pablo YG on many singles and compilations, most notably on his breakout hit Rich N Richer along with the EP of the same name, which was a co-production with several labels. Recently, Richards returned from a successful Canadian tour alongside Pablo YG.

"The reception was overwhelming, and we are looking forward to igniting a stage near you," he said.

In the meantime, YGF Records will continue to grow and cement its place in the local and international music industry, with many more productions and collaborations in the works.
