King Z eyes international success

US-based dancehall/reggae artiste King Z is pleased with the response to his single titled Africa.

The song, which was co-produced by him and Yung Vet, was released late last year on the Ameri-Jam Entertainment label. Since then, it has been enjoying strong airplay both locally and overseas.

"Growing up in Jamaica, I learned that Africa is where our ancestors are from. Since those early days, I've developed a deep interest in learning more about this great continent and its rich history. It is this great love which I possess for Mama Africa that has inspired me to write and record this song, and I am very pleased that it has received such a warm reception from music lovers worldwide," said the artiste.

The talented singjay, who lists his father Arthur Williams, Beres Hammond and Garnett Silk among his musical idols, is confident that very soon he will be a force to be reckoned with on the international music scene.

"I'm from a rich musical background I grew up in a house filled with a lot of talented people including my dad who was a highly skilled guitar player who travelled and played with bands all over Jamaica and the States. This experience has inspired the way I create music which is something that comes easily to me once I hear a good beat. I've even created my own unique style, which is a fusion of reggae, dancehall, hip hop, R&B and country. It's only a matter of time before I become an international music star," he said.

King Z is also gearing up to release two new singles, Better Days Ahead and Everyday. King Z, given name Zealus Williams, was born and raised in Plowden, Manchester.
