6ixty1Gad salutes moms on new single
With Mother's Day right around the corner, Bajan dancehall artiste 6ixty1Gad is gearing up to release his new single, titled ' Dear Mummy'.
He said the song was inspired by life lessons that his mother, Linda Eugene, taught him when he was a child.
"She taught me how to be a man of integrity and honour. She was very stern with me and my siblings because she never wanted us to go down the wrong roads in life. Now that I am a father, I teach my sons the same lessons that she taught me," said the artiste.
Produced by Clarendon-based producer Rural Area for Caridigital Records, Dear Mummy is scheduled to be released on Mother's Day.
"I am very excited about this song. It means a lot to me, because it's a tribute to my mother and all the good mothers out there in the world. I am confident that it will do well, because it carries a positive message that will resonate with people from all levels of society," said 6ixty1Gad.
"I have a lot of hot new songs in the can that I plan to release in the coming months; however, right now I am focusing on this new single. I'm going to shoot a video for it very soon," he said.
6ixty1Gad, given name Dwayne Maphius Eugene, is from South District in St George, Barbados.
