The 'Premier League' rhythm, the latest project from Kings Of Kings Productions, is scheduled for release this month.

It is spearheaded by Speak The Truth, a song by Turbulence. Orrin Allenger, a spokesperson for the Toronto-based label, expects seven artistes to record songs on the uptempo beat. Those songs will be compiled for an EP of the same name.

Speak The Truth, he said, "tackles the truth in terms of social issues".

Allenger, known as 'Yo Tef', did not disclose the names of the other acts who are being considered to voice on the rhythm, but said, like Turbulence, several of them are established in dancehall circles.

The rhythm is part of a series of projects earmarked by Kings Of Kings Productions which was launched by Jamaican Colin 'Iley Dread' Levy in Montreal in 1995. For the next 10 years, the label released songs by a number of top artistes, including Dennis Brown, Anthony B, Norris Man, Ce'Cile and Tanya Stephens.

Persistence, Norris Man's song which was released in 1999, is considered the breakthrough song for the label. In addition to Premier League, the label will release a gospel album by Iley Dread this summer.

Allenger joined the company in 1999 and has worked on some of its most successful productions.
