Bolt’s ‘It’s A Party’ featured in Euro 2024 coverage

Usain Bolt has struck another international win with his A-Team Lifestyle produced single, It's A Party, being used as the official celebration song by Fox Sports during the Euro 2024 coverage on Sunday.

The former track star-turned-producer said achieving this moment is a "big win" for dancehall music.

"To see our song It's A Party, which we had released three years ago, being embraced and used in such a forum is a big deal to us. Seeing our song being synced to moments like these is every artiste's dream. This just confirms to NJ [Nugent Walker] and I to keep doing what we doing and the recognition will come in its own right," Bolt told THE STAR.

It's A Party is a 2021 single from the Bolt and NJ collaborative album, Country Yutes, which was featured on the US Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. The song, which was also used in the Euro 2024 semi-finals, was used to drive the message across the airwaves of the broadcasting channel during Sunday's finals in which Spain beat England 2-1. The dancehall energy the song evoked, added to the already highly elated Spain team and their fans, garnered a vast number of responses, after a clip of the broadcast was posted on Fox's X account. Bolt emphasised the importance of creating quality music for a more impactful result.

"For our song to be selected from a list of so many genres, it is a testimony that when you make good music the world will hear it and celebrate it as well. This recognition proves that you cannot only create music for today but songs that can be used in global spaces and embraced by a wider audience. The syncing of our music is something that NJ and I embrace as we had two of our songs - Yuh Know and Motivated - synced in the recently released Sprint documentary on Netflix," shared Bolt. He noted that, identifying the song for use in a "celebratory content was solely [Fox Sport's] decision [which] is a good look for dancehall".

"Personally, I am humbled to see our work being embraced globally. We are thankful to all our supporters who take time out to enjoy our songs. It's a party energy when we get to work in the studios, and it is great to see this filtering over into the global space," Bolt added. He implored his music colleagues and artistes to create timeless, quality music which will make worldwide impacts.

"Music is dynamic; it cannot remain the same. It is an artform that is driven by the creator's passion and how they are best able to express it. The sound and delivery will continue to change, and this is good. My advice is to keep expressing yourselves and remember to not only make music for the now and your immediate circle, but also with the future and the global audience in mind," he urged.

Since his start in the music business, Bolt has released several albums, as well as releases. One of his latest projects was the Busy Signal and Shaneil Muir single, titled Jamaica All The Way - an anthem for Team Jamaica ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, set to start on July 26.
