Nesbeth says morality on life support

October 15, 2024

Reggae artiste Nesbeth has released a single aimed at reviving morality and cultural values in Jamaican society.

Nesbeth said the single, Stra888 Nation, is part if his mission is to "resuscitate morality".

"I believe it's on life support or in a coma. Stra888 Nation addresses the erosion of our moral standards, while reminding listeners of the inner strength they possess to choose a value system that defies the popular trend," Nesbeth explained.

The track, released under the Treble Fitz Productions label and distributed by ONErpm, is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Beyond his music, Nesbeth is deeply committed to societal upliftment, a passion reflected in his high-profile initiatives. Recently, he was appointed the 2024 Ambassador for National Caribbean American Heritage Month, an honour that recognises his influence within the Caribbean diaspora and his dedication to preserving cultural identity.

Nesbeth's advocacy for the creative industries extends to the international stage. He was recently selected to represent Jamaica's music industry in a pivotal meeting with Makhtar Diop, managing director of the International Finance Corporation. The discussions centred around the economic potential of Jamaica's creative sectors, with Nesbeth playing a crucial role in championing sustainable investments that could benefit both the local and global music scenes.

"It was an honour to be part of those discussions. I always try to use my platform as a catalyst for change," he shared.
