Busy year ahead for Courtney Nevers
For multihyphenate Courtney Nevers, the sky is the limit in 2025, as he will film the third season of ' Arnold's Caribbean Pizza', release a short film series, and unleash new music.
Splitting his time between California and Jamaica, Nevers has found the formula for balancing a robust career. The entertainer, whose brand spans TV, film and music, excels in each career space. The entertainer plays Melvin on ' Arnold's Caribbean Pizza'. Produced by TV mavericks Bentley Kyle Evans (' Martin', ' The Jamie Foxx Show') and Trae Ireland, the sitcom is centred on Jamaican businessman Arnold Brooks, his family, and the colourful characters who work and eat at his Caribbean restaurant.
"My role as Melvin feels natural," said Nevers. "This could contribute to my character being likable. It's a great feeling to connect with audiences, while doing something you love."
With an all-Caribbean cast, the show first aired and gained popularity on Flow in Jamaica and NBT (National Black Television). ' Arnold's Caribbean Pizza' is now streaming on Tubi, Prime Video and Amazon freevee.
"I think the show, which is a fresh take on ' The Odd Couple', is relatable to diverse audiences. The show's streaming on major platforms increased viewership, an inspiration for a new season," said Nevers.
Through his Podeville Production, Nevers is partnering with Mix Frames Entertainment to produce the short film series ' Dream Chaser'. Set to be released on YouTube, ' Dream Chaser' has garnered new fans and plenty of interest since its teasers dropped across social media recently.
' Dream Chaser' is centred on a youngster from the ghetto who is working to change his life from one of poverty and violence. He hopes to uplift himself by acquiring some money, a loan to start a T-shirt printing business. But opposition from the don and opposing gangs in the community steers him off course.
As if Nevers' entertainment plate couldn't get fuller, he will continue to unleash godly music "to di world". Filling the Caribbean music space with meaningful and spiritual selections is of utmost importance to Nevers. His unique delivery and powerful messages shine through songs like ' HIStory' and ' Question'.
Nevers has also appeared in movies such as ' Gangsta's Paradise', ' Cop and a Badman', ' Straight Out' and ' Rude Boy the Jamaican Don'.
