Hitmatic Records recording artiste Intrestt knows what it is like to jeopardise a personal relationship in the pursuit of his music career.

He captures that dilemma in his latest release, Nuh Ready, in which he details that a relationship is doomed for disaster because of incompatibility issues.

"It's a true life story. I was going through some bad times with my baby mommy and I was getting blame for using the studio as a pass to go look fi other girl. But, all the while, I was only trying to look a better life for both of us. That caused a problem because my empress just 'nuh ready'," said the artiste, whose given name is Davion Bent.

Intrestt said that, at one point, he was so frustrated that he gave up on music to protect the 'peace' in his relationship. That is a mistake he will never make again.

"The thing is that, no matter what, you always have a friend who was telling her to leave and that one friend is the one who doesn't even have a life with a man but who is trying to give relationship advice, so that my girl can be just like her. By the time she figured it out, it was too late," he explained.

The song was produced by Ricky 'Mad Man' Myrie and Clarkie, and mixed by Christopher Birch.

Born on October 7, 1991 to parents Mertlyn McFarlen and Rodney Bent, he grew up in Caymanas Gardens, Portmore, St Catherine. Intrestt started his musical journey at age 10 while attending the Gregory Park Primary School. He gained respect from his friends and other community members as a melodic singjay.

Intrestt has performed on various stage shows throughout Jamaica, and has also done some shows in Antigua and Barbuda and Montserrat, where he was well received. One of his pet projects is working closely with community-based foundation Yutes4Change.

"We have to find a way to elevate the youth; we have to show them a better way," he said.
