Malie Donn excites crowd in London gig
Dancehall artiste Malie Donn thrilled a 2,000-strong audience with an impressive performance inside the jam-packed Mayfair club in Romford, east London, recently.
Dressed in full black outfit with black gloves to match, Malie Donn showed that he was in full command of his stage craft as he did songs such as Suspect, Cups Up, and Sacred. However, the high point of his performance came when he did V6, which is arguably his biggest hit song. The young deejay had the audience singing the hit word for word, and at one time, the audience drowned him out on the microphone. Malie Donn had to stop and flash a 100-watt smile because of the adoration from his female fans. After that, he could do no wrong and finished his set strongly with songs such as Dirty Mirror and Body Tea, capping off a memorable night. Fellow dancehall act Byron Messia opened the show as a supporting act.
Show promoter Ramone Roper, director of Ourthing Global Entertainment, was effervescent in his praise for Malie Donn.
"[He] proved yet again that he is one of dancehall's best sellers in UK as he sold out a 2,000 capacity venue after being here only nine months ago, and still left fans wanting more. His performance was epic," Roper said.
"My only regret is not booking a bigger venue. This is a young man that is certainly on his way to the highest heights."
Malie Donn will embark on a series of dates across Europe, including shows in Toulouse, France, and Corfu, Greece. There are also plans for a Caribbean-wide tour later this year.
