Easter Sunday is about to get scorching as the one and only Capleton blazes back into his home parish to headline the St Mary Kite and Food Festival at Buccaneers in Port Maria on April 20.

With the 'Fireman' himself leading the charge, the vibes will be sky-high - and not just because of the kites.

"Sometimes I don't get to perform before my hardcore fans because of different commitments, but this occasion presents the right opportunity and I will not disappoint my fans," Capleton said.

"St Mary is my place and when we turn up it will be mad things. Fans can expect to be treated to all of their favourite hits, in addition to some new music I am promoting."

The red-hot line-up includes Jada Kingdom, Jamal, Agent Sasco, Kevin Downswell, Skippa, Bellweatha, and TrapQween serving up everything from dancehall fire to gospel soul. Expect a musical mash-up that'll keep the entire family moving till the sun dips below the sea.

Promoter Sean 'Contractor' Edwards says the community has been eagerly awaiting this one.

"This event will bring a smile to the faces of the people," he said. "Kiting is a very fun thing to do, as it allows individuals to showcase their creativity by coming up with some of the most amazing designs."

And no, kitesurfing isn't just a passing breeze in St Mary - it's soaring!

"It is now!" Edwards declared. "What started as a fun idea has turned into a major community tradition. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned pro, there's space in the sky for you."

The competition will see the most creative kite-flyers walking away with serious cash prizes -- $50,000 for first place, $30,000 for second, and $20,000 for third.

The fest is a family affair. Kids will ride free all day.

"Parents do not have to worry about finding a babysitter. It will be a fantastic occasion for people to be out just enjoying the Sunday afternoon breez,e while observing the magic being created by kite-flyers," Edwards added.
