Jah Single embracing TikTok to promote his music
As TikTok continues to grow in popularity, scores of reggae and dancehall artistes are using the social media platform to promote their music.
Dancehall artiste Jah Single is one such artiste, and he recently held a launch party for his new single, Who Yeahh, on the social media platform. The May 16 event was held on the same day the song was released. The event featured performances from Jah Single and several guest acts.
"It's very obvious that in today's world, social media is one of the most important elements in any form of marketing and promotion, and TikTok is one of the most popular platforms. I've been using it for a while now to push my music. So, when my publicist suggested that I launch this single on his live, I jumped on the idea and I am very happy with the results," said Jah Single. He opined that the launch party was successful in a variety of ways.
"It was an awesome event and everyone present had a good time. The following days after the party, I noticed a steady increase in my streaming numbers. I also got several new followers on TikTok and Instagram, and more likes on both platforms and on YouTube," he added.
The Manchester-born singjay, who is the grand-nephew of legendary Jamaican music producer Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, is confident that the song, which he co-produced with Stoner Music Group, will be a summer anthem.
"I believe fans are really going to vibe with this one. The track is packed with punchy flows, sharp wordplay, and bold ad-libs - all laid over a rhythm that makes you want to move. It's designed for dancing, energy, and enjoyment from start to finish," he said.
Jah Single is also working on several other projects, including a live performance EP and an EP consisting of acoustic versions of some of his previous releases, including In My Element, Mow Down and Uber Boy.
