Gun, ammunition seized in St James

Twenty-six-year-old Kadian Grant of Cambridge, St James, is to appear in the Western Regional Gun Court on Friday to answer to charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

The charges were laid following his arrest by the Anchovy police in the community on Sunday. Reports are that at about 8:30 p.m., a team of officers accosted Grant in the vicinity of a bar and searched him. A Taurus 9mm pistol loaded with a magazine containing eight 9mm rounds of ammunition was taken from him.

Investigations are ongoing.
