No arrests for brazen daylight murder

December 23, 2016

Up to late last night, the Kingston Central police were yet to make an arrest in the mid-afternoon murder of a man in downtown Kingston last Wednesday.

However, they are theorising that the slaying of 24-year-old Cleon Brown, otherwise called Boysie and Yankie, of Orange Street in Kingston, was gang-related based on information on the ground.

An alleged eyewitness told THE WEEKEND STAR that Brown was seated on a coaster bus on Heywood Street when a lone gunman approached him and said, "Hey bwoy, mi catch you now," before unloading several bullets into him.

Further reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit are that the driver of the Toyota Coaster bus drove to North Parade with the injured man. He was later pronounced dead at the Kingston Public Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
