Water relief for Samuel Prospect

The water woes being experienced by residents of Samuel Prospect in Trelawny are set to be eased shortly. This is due to the benevolence of businessman Fabian Davis, who donated three tanks with a total capacity of 3,000 gallons to the community.

Davis told WESTERN STAR that he is in discussions with the National Water Commission to ensure that the tanks will have water in them.

"I was born in Duncans, I left and have come back. I was approached by the residents and feel that I can show my appreciation for the support they have given me in my business. It is a win-win situation. They support me, and as a corporate responsibility, I give back," he said.

One resident, Lloyd Brown, who has lived in the community all his life, expressed delight about the possibility of being able to access a steady supply of water in the community.

"I am 61 years old and have never known of a period when we have had adequate water supply. Representatives of the community took their plight to Mr Davis and he has responded favourably," Brown said.
