Merlene McKenzie loves her farming

Merlene McKenzie is no stranger to farming as she has been doing it for the past 10 years. The Silent Hill, Clarendon, resident said that even though this is good work, she is faced by challenges such as lack of water and proper resources to make her business flourish.

"More while, we lack the resources to establish ourselves. More so, we kinda stuck in one place," she said.

"I would like to get a loan to improve my daily routine because I have my structure to know what I want to do," she added.

McKenzie, a mother of five children, said that farming is quite demanding and time-consuming.

"Mi come down a di farm almost every day and me go a the market every weekend. Right now, we just have to do what we have to do," she said.
