Businessman killed by men posing as customers

The St Andrew Central Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has launched a probe into the shooting death of a businessman at his establishment last Friday in Kencot, St Andrew.

No motive has been established for the killing, but the police say they are following several leads.

Reports reaching THE STAR is that 55-year-old Phillip Dillon of a Pleasant Valley address in Clarendon was shot and killed about 1 p.m. by men posing a customers.

According to the police, Dillon was at his business place when four men entered and made a request for car parts.

The request was not met, and while leaving, one of the men pulled a firearm and opened fire on Dillon.

He was shot in the head and upper body.

Our news team understands that he was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) where he was pronounced dead.

The police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed reports of the deadly daylight shooting.

The Half-Way Tree police are investigating.
