Four killed in motorcycle crash

There has been a reduction in motorcyle fatal accidents.

Four people, including two women, died tragically after two motorcycles collided along the Sheffield main road in Westmoreland on Wednesday night.

Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that at about 9:30 p.m., the two motorcycles were being driven along the roadway in opposite directions when one of the drivers attempted a turn, resulting in both motorcycles colliding.

The deceased have been identified as 21-year-old Shakera Hawthorne, 20-year-old Kadean Campbell, 31-year-old Ryan 'Force Ripe' Robinson, the driver of the bike, all of Whitehall district addresses in Westmoreland.

Everton Spence, 31, who is said to have been the other driver is of a Sheffield district address in the parish.

Reports are that the drivers of the motorcycles and the two females, who were pillion riders on one of the bikes, sustained multiple injuries and were taken to hospital.

They were all pronounced dead on arrival. A fifth person, who was the pillion on the other bike, is said to be in serious condition.

The Corporate Communications Unit confirmed the reports.

The Westmoreland police are investigating.
