Masons murdered in early morning attack

The peaceful and quiet community of Belmont in Westmoreland was rocked early yesterday morning with the killing of two men while they were sleeping in their beds.

They have been identified as 41-year-old Fritz Gerard, and 32-year-old Dwayne Bell, both masons

According to reports, sometime after 1:30 a.m., residents reported hearing several loud explosions.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival and a search, the bodies of the two men were seen inside the house in pools of blood.

GUNSHOT WOUNDS

Further investigation revealed that the men had what appear to be several gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.

It is surmised that they were killed while sleeping.

It is said that the men have a habit of going to sleep sometimes with the house open.

The residents in the area have described both men as quiet, peaceful, and helpful.

The Westmoreland police, who are investigating, are yet to determine a motive. The police are also calling on residents who might have seen something to come forward to assist in their investigations.
