Four male relatives who were involved in a fight that resulted in a female relative's hand being injured are to make their next appearance in the St James Parish Court on October 23.

Dermot Dunston, Ivan Dunston, Denzil Dunston and George Dunston are all charged with unlawful wounding.

They were given the new date when they appeared before Parish Judge Kacia Grant last Friday.

Although the details of the allegations were not disclosed, it is understood that the Dunston family members were involved in a dispute that escalated into a fight, with machetes being drawn and stones being thrown.

During the brawl, the complainant sustained a wound to her hand, and the four men were subsequently arrested.

When the matter was mentioned last Friday, clerk of the court Shantalle Bannerbie told Grant that the complainant was absent from court as she was seeking treatment for her injury overseas.

The court was also told that other medical certificates for some of the accused men were already on the prosecution's case file, and only the complainant's medical certificate was outstanding.

The case was subsequently set for mention on October 23 and George Dunston had his bail extended, while the others were bound over to return on that date.
