Missing man found in Rio Cobre

Only a few hours after Odain 'Saddam' Headly went missing, a resident said that she knew his fate.

She told THE STAR that when she heard the news of him going missing, she felt it within her spirit that someone did something to him.

"When mi hear the picherie dem, mi know seh sup'm wrong. Plus mi foot bottom did a scratch me, and when mi foot bottom scratch me, somebody dead," the resident said.

Headly, who is from the March Pen area of St Catherine, was reported missing last Thursday after he left home for work and did not return. He was found at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday, five days after he was reported missing.

 

FRANTIC SEARCH

 

His father, Eric Headly, was the one who found him in the Rio Cobre in St Catherine. He explained that the frantic search for his son began last week, and he decided to look in the area where Odain was eventually found.

"We a look everywhere, enuh, and the police dem go one side, so mi tek ova yah so. While me a search, someone seh: 'No man sup'm dung deh.' And mi seh: 'All right, watch me head back,' and mi cut through some bush and go dung deh. When mi go, mi see him," he said.

According to his mother, Sharon Headly, Odain is known and loved by many persons in their community. She told THE STAR that her 24-year-old son was working at a mechanic shop at the time of his demise.

Although saddened by his death, Sharon Headly said that she is happy that they were able to find his body.

"Him dead and wi hurt, but at least wi find him, so wi can bury him and put wi mind at little ease," she said.
