NEPA hunts killer crocodile
The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) and Urban Development Corporation (UDC) have commenced the process to capture the crocodile that killed Wilford Edmondson in Portmore.
In a release yesterday, the entities expressed condolences to Edmondson's family and said an incident response team from both organisations visited the location on Sunday.
NEPA is in dialogue with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and awaits the completion of the JCF's investigation into Edmondson's death.
In the interim, the agencies have started to look for the animal.
Members of the public are reminded to exercise caution in areas, which are clearly identified as natural crocodile habitats, observe the posted warning signs and refrain from interacting with the crocodiles.
NEPA reminds the public to immediately contact the agency at 1-888-991-5005 or 876-754-7540 if crocodiles are seen in areas where they may pose a threat to human life.
