St Elizabeth missing 205 standpipes
September 19, 2018
The National Water Commission (NWC) appears to be overcharging the St Elizabeth Municipal Corporation for social water distributed through standpipes in the parish.
Errol Lebert, CEO of the St Elizabeth Municipal Corporation, said that an audit of standpipes conducted jointly by the municipal corporation and the NWC has confirmed that there are 243 standpipes in the parish.
Lebert, who was speaking at the recent sitting Corporation last Thursday, said the NWC is billing Corporation for 448 standpipes.
The Corporation owes the NWC millions of dollars for water that is distributed through standpipes.
