Guard on the run after Roehampton murder
St James recorded yet another murder on Saturday night when a resident of Roehampton district, near Anchovy, in St James, was stabbed to death, allegedly by a security guard during a dispute.
The dead man has been identified as 25-year-old Darian Gray, who is of a Roehampton address. His alleged killer is now on the run.
According to reports from investigators at the Anchovy Police Station, about 9:15 p.m., Gray and the security guard got into a heated argument, which developed into a scuffle. During the scuffle, the security guard allegedly used a knife to slash Gray in his stomach and then fled the scene. Gray was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
"This is not a good look for our community because while other communities have been having problems, we were relatively peaceful," a resident of Roehampton told the WESTERN STAR yesterday. "We hope we don't get any reprisals from the incident."
