Unidentified man shot dead by police

A probe is currently being carried out by the Independent Commission of Investigations and the Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) following the shooting death of a man on East Queens Street in downtown Kingston on Tuesday night.

According to a report from the police's Constabulary Communication Unit, the identified man was shot by the police at about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday after he confronted them with a weapon.

A home-made firearm and ammunition was removed from his body.
