Murder accused remanded
Rushoi Brown, who is accused of murdering 16-year-old Clarendon student Vendaline Carol Anderson, was again remanded when he appeared in the St Elizabeth Parish Court on Monday.
He is now scheduled to return to court on November 8 when his case will again be heard.
The court was told that the case file is still incomplete as a number of statements, including the post-mortem and forensic lab reports, are outstanding.
A decision was taken that if the outstanding documents were not on the file at the next court date, the renewal of a bail application would be made.
It was reported that Brown flew into a rage after the teen indicated that she was breaking off their relationship.
It was reported that about 9 p.m. on August 14, Anderson, who was visiting relatives in the community of Top Hill in St Elizabeth, was in a yard babysitting when Brown visited.
A dispute developed, during which Brown allegedly used a knife to inflict several stab wounds to Anderson's abdomen.
An alarm was made and Anderson was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A report was made to the Junction police and Brown was taken into custody and later charged.
