Police charge alleged Ski Mask gangster

November 06, 2018

Husana 'Reds' Johnson, who the police labelled as one of the top-tier leaders of the resurgent Ski Mask gang, which has been operating out of the Bunkers Hill community, is now facing a slew of charges ranging from shooting to illegal possession of a firearm.

Johnson, who was named by the Trelawny police as one of the most wanted fugitives earlier this year, was arrested in a police operation just over three weeks ago. However, he was only charged last Friday, following the last of a series of identification parades.

The police identified their search for Johnson in September after they claimed that he was among a group of gangsters, including the now deceased gang leader Adrian 'Lippy' Walker, who engaged the police in a blazing gun battle in Bunkers Hill early in the month.

SHOOT-OUT WITH POLICE

In a subsequent police operation on October 22, Walker along with Robert 'Pagey' Miller and Denton Grant were killed after they engaged the police in a shoot-out in Friendship district.

The Ski Mask gang originally operated out of Barrett Town, in St James, under the leadership of Oswyn 'Ski Mask' Jarrett.

The gang was all but destroyed in March 2017 when Jarrett and five of his cronies were killed in a firefight with a police military team in Goodwill, on the St James/Trelawny border.

After being out of circulation for several months, the gang resurfaced in August in Bunkers Hill, where they were involved in numerous shootings and robberies.
