Mother, daughter killed in firebombed house

The police have launched a manhunt for a man who reportedly firebombed a house resulting in the death of his common-law wife, Shanna-Kaye Bowen, and her daughter Tashi Munda.

The incident occurred in Salisbury Plain, a rural district located approximately six miles north of Stony Hill square in St Andrew.

Munda, a top performing student at St Hugh's High School died on Wednesday as a result of the injuries she received in the fire on Sunday. Her mother died on Thursday.

The fire was allegedly started by Bowen's common-law husband who is said to have fire-bombed the dwelling with Bowen, Munda and other family members locked inside. 

“All now we still a bawl from Sunday, first Tashi now her mother... . A bare bawling up a dem lane. The whole district cut up over it. ... From Sunday it’s on everybody lips. We did a pray dem survive but dem did burn bad,” a resident told THE STAR as she wept uncontrollably.

Our news team gathered that on Sunday night, the deceased and others were at home when arsonists set the house ablaze.

“Him and him fren come n create a big damage... all the rest a family had to jump trough di window,” a resident said.

The St Andrew North police are investigating.
