A trip to Fire Water in St Ann is just what Kevin Chambers, co-owner of the attraction, said is needed to heal all aches and pains.

The road through the community of Windsor is one that many have taken without knowledge that they are passing a healing spring.

The spring, according to Chambers, was discovered by his late great-grandmother when she was only 15 years old.

When he left school, he decided to take on the task of upgrading the area to be a mini-attraction and a place where people could come and get better.

The spring was an interesting place but the team took some time to find it.

There were no signs to give directions as to where to find Fire Water, but with some help from residents on the St Ann's Bay main road, we were directed to a dirt road that led to another small area in Windsor.

Chambers, along with some community members, sat at the bar where you can get a cool refreshment, waiting to see if anyone would visit.

He quickly welcomed THE WEEKEND STAR team and carried us to the sulphuric healing spring.

The view was not like what you would see at Dunn's River Falls, nonetheless some persons who have got the chance to take a dip, said they have never felt better since going in the water.

Oliver Blake said that he took seven dips after he was in a car accident and after coming up from the water, he never felt any pain.

"This is God's creation and this is something that will heal mankind. When mi come up, mi feel the energy. Mi leg did rip up and a iron inna it and it used to pain me, but it nah pain me again," he said.

I will not lie, the thought of having fire so close was scary, but as Chambers said, it will not burn unless (pause) the fire is blazing.

To enter the water is free, however, according to Chambers, a massage will require a cost.

He said that on many occasions, persons leave a 'contribution' which they use to maintain the area.

RATINGS: 2.5/5

ESSENTIALS: Towel and a change of clothes

BEST THING: The water is calming, especially when the fire is lit

WORST THING: The road to get there is rocky.

LOCATION: If you are travelling from Ocho Rios going to St Ann's Bay, you should make the left turn before you enter the town to head to Windsor.

Once you are in the community, take the first left. Ask anyone where to find Fire Water. Be prepared for a bumpy ride on a narrow trek to the spring.
