Love triangle leads to man's death?

February 26, 2019

Investigators attached to the St Andrew North Police Division believe that it is only a matter of time before they apprehend the prime suspect in a fatal stabbing incident which claimed the life of a farmer last Friday in the Golden Spring square.

The incident has sent tongues wagging in the west rural community, and, according to residents, it may have stemmed from a love triangle.

Our news team was told that the deceased man and his attacker had been in a dispute before the day of the incident.

Reports from the Constant Spring police are that about 4:50 p.m. last Friday, the two men had an altercation, and the attacker used a knife to stab the other man.

The police were alerted.

The man was then rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A source close to the investigation told THE STAR that the dead man is known as a quiet person.

“We soon hold him (suspect). Is the man weh dead was the aggressor. Him draw knife pon him first, and a boast bout it. They had a run in a few days before. The next yute is known to be a quiet person. On the day, I guess him just couldn’t take it any more and lost control. It would only help his case if him turn himself in to the police,” the source said.

THE STAR also spoke with a resident from the area, who said: “Him catch the man up a him yard and him (deceased) tek weh himself. Him go catch him (deceased) again a Golden Spring square and stab him. A two yute from up ya, enuh, but, bwoy, you see how woman powerful. Probably him woulda kill all the girl too if him catch her.”

The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed the stabbing incident.

Up to press time, Senior Superintendent Glenford Miller, who is in charge of the St Andrew North Police Division, could not be reached for a comment.

Investigations are ongoing.
