St Catherine man disarmed during struggle

A St Catherine man, who was in possession of a gun, had the weapon taken away from him by another man with whom he had a dispute.

The gun, a Berretta 9mm pistol with a magazine containing seven 9mm rounds of ammunition, was subsequently handed over to the police in Willowdene, Spanish Town, St. Catherine. The incident took place on Sunday.

It is alleged that two men were involved in an altercation during which when one of them pulled a firearm. A struggle ensued and the man was disarmed. He has since been taken into custody.
