Residents of St John’s Road in St Catherine took to the streets on Thursday to protest because of comments made by a policeman following the death of Sheldon ‘Junior Biggs’ Daley.

The utterance, which upset the residents, came from the mouth of Corporal Kirk Frazer, one of the policemen at the centre of investigations into Daley’s murder.

The interview was aired on TVJ.

Sharon McDonald, Daley’s mother-in-law, told THE WEEKEND STAR that she was displeased with the interview.

“The policeman come and cry, say him a di breadwinner for his family. That’s what he said last night (Wednesday night). All now he don’t say why Biggs dead. Him don’t say why two different plates inna the police car,” she said.

Like McDonald, another resident questioned the circumstances under which Daley died.

“Nuh gangster nuh involve inna what happen. Mi glue to mi TV from bout 9:30 p.m. (Wednesday). When it (news) start, if I could draw him (policeman) through my TV – bare lie and him nah speak clear. We were waiting on information from Sunday, and if a this dem a come with, then we nah stop block the road,” she said.

Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Daley was at a party in Chedwin Park, Spanish Town, when he was approached by two men who opened fire hitting him.

The men tried to escape in a waiting vehicle, but they were chased by an off-duty police officer.

One of the alleged rogue cops was killed, while another was detained. The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has identified Frazer as the other cop who managed to escape.

Our news team gathered that Frazer and the cop in custody were charged in 2017 by INDECOM for the 2015 murder of 28-year-old Ricardo Meadley.

They were out on $1-million bail.

And even as the residents protest, McDonald said that the killing has plunged the family into sadness.

“His wife and three children not taking it well. They are traumatised. They haven’t been to school and constant crying. Biggs death just turn over the ship though because a long time dem thing ya a gwaan. People a dead, and we nuh know what happening,” she said.

Meanwhile, the residents added that Daley had two other friends who died in controversial circumstances.

“Bigga Nice dead two years, now Junior Biggs (Daley), and a same way Billy did dead. Three friends weh par dead same way, and nobody nuh know nothing bout it. The other two nuh solve yet. The same bawl weh him (policeman) come a bawl pon TV, a same way Biggs family a bawl,” another resident told THE WEEKEND STAR.
