JUTC to terminate service at 8pm

The management of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC),  will be terminating its services at 8pm this evening, in an effort to protect its drivers. 

Giving ear to the safety concerns of its drivers, the JUTC facilitated discussions across all depots on Wednesday. Counselling sessions were also held at the Rockfort Depot, the hub of the driver who was shot and killed on Monday night. 

A phased roll out of service is expected to resume at 5am on Thursday morning. 

The JUTC says they will continue to monitor the situation, with hopes to restore full service in short order.
