A man has been taken into custody following the discovery of a body in a shallow grave in bushes in St James on Wednesday.

The body is believed to be that of missing businessman 43-year-old Allie Jackson, inventory manager of Peters Avenue, in Montego Bay.

Police reported that Jackson was last seen alive at his home in Peters Avenue, about 5:30 a.m., on Wednesday, January 29.

A missing persons' report was made at the Freeport Police Station.

But yesterday morning, the police, acting on information, travelled to the Retirement community where they carried out a number of snap raids, resulting in two men being taken into custody, including the suspect in Jackson's disappearance.

The police then went to a section of the community which borders Gutters district and carried out another search, where the body was found.
