It has been almost two months and still there is no sign of 22-year-old Jasmine 'Maya' Deen.

Jasmine, a visually impaired student of The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, has been missing since Thursday, February 27.

On March 18, the police announced that a person of interest had been identified in the case.

Her father, Lloyd Deen, told THE STAR that without a speck of doubt, he is 100 per cent hopeful that he will reunite with his daughter soon.

"Me a try and me hope seh me see her same way. I just have to have hope and do positive thinking. We can't just jump off something like this ... we have to continue. Dem have two persons ... dem just need fi come up with something. It hard, though. Is like a puzzle this," he said.

Jasmine, who is of brown complexion, slim build, and is about four feet six inches tall, was last seen in Papine, St Andrew, wearing a white blouse and blue jeans.

After she failed to get home, Deen made a missing person's report at the Mona Police Station the following day.

Despite the mountain of uncertainty surrounding his daughter's disappearance, Deen is still pleased by the efforts demonstrated by the police.

"The police dem still a look enuh ... the police dem a work pon the case same way. But dem seh because of the virus and thing, we can't even get fi gather again and walk. Me really feel it because me wah carry on the search and come up with something," he told THE STAR.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey told THE STAR that the person of interest was charged.

"The investigation is ongoing. The person that was picked up, he is still in custody. He was charged in relation to the ATM card that was used for a transaction in the ATM. We would call that a holding charge, because he had her ATM card," he said.
