Eyes popped and mouths dropped wide open this week when it was reported in this newspaper that a British woman is using sperm smoothies to build her immune system. Tracy Kiss, 32, said she takes the sperm straight from the source - her boyfriend - to make immune-building punch.

And she is unashamed of what she is doing. As Kiss puts it, "Leading a healthy, active lifestyle and consuming plenty of vitamins and minerals naturally, through fresh fruit, vegetables and semen as a vegan helps to keep my immune system at its healthiest, which in turn prevents me from becoming ill."

The fitness trainer and mother of two advises that rather than waiting to become sick and then seeking a cure or pain relief, "prevent yourself from getting sick by maintaining a healthy and strong immune system all year round".

"For those who laugh or scorn, it's their loss on something healthy, free and plentiful to us all. I hope one day they realise the benefits of nature rather than expensively medicating illnesses that can be easily prevented," she told THE WEEKEND STAR.

Not only does Kiss believe the consumption of semen can prevent COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, but she is convinced that this ejaculated liquid is health food. She said, too, that it should be consumed as fresh as possible.

THE WEEKEND STAR asked her how did the idea of the semen smoothies come about.

"Knowing the benefits of semen to my skin when using semen to treat rosacea-sensitive skin (semen has over 200 vitamins and minerals, including protein per ejaculate), I realised these same benefits could go deeper than the surface of my skin if ingested," she said.

She said that after conducting research online she saw where studies have spoken about the power of semen in boosting the immune system and so she "began investing, rather than wasting it".

"If I don't take it directly from my partner, I store it in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 24 hours or in the freezer, thereafter, and add it to fresh fruit and vegetable superfood smoothies each morning," Kiss told THE WEEKEND STAR.

MEDICAL ADVICE

But Dr Elon Thompson, president of the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association, said he was unaware of any scientific evidence to support the consumption of sperm for nutritional reasons.

"It don't think this is something people should consider doing right now for nutritional benefits. I would encourage them to stay away from this practice because, one, I don't think it is going to be socially acceptable; and two, there is no scientific evidence to suggest this is something we should be practising," Thompson said.

The doctor, while noting that there are persons who swallow sperm during sexual encounters, warned that there is a danger that people may consume semen that may contain infections.

"If it is that persons are doing this consumption for a nutritional benefit, I don't think there is any nutritional benefit there," Thompson said.

MANIPULATING TASTE

Meanwhile, the vegan nutrition adviser said that semen, by itself, can taste salty or musty, depending on the foods which have recently been consumed by the male providing the juice. She said that if a man consumes citrus fruits, it helps to remove the saltiness from the taste.

"Mixing semen into a fruit smoothie disguises the taste and you wouldn't know that it's there at all," she said.

And for those who want to try the semen smoothies, Kiss said that preparing it takes no extra effort.

"It is no different to your normal daily routine for taste and flavour, as the semen mixed into cold drinks, smoothies or on cereal is completely disguised in taste and texture.

"Give it a try and see how you feel after, the results speak for themselves. You can choose to do nothing for your health and feel rubbish and lose days at a time, off from work and away from life because of sickness and seasonal colds and flu, or you can take a positive step to put your health first by consuming a daily multivitamin from a health store or nature's free multivitamin, found in semen for free and in plentiful supply," she said.

Kiss reasoned that the "world has a long way to go to overcome the 'hard sale' society we live in, where pharmaceutical brands greedy for profit try to sell you 'magic pills' for every symptom and sickness, which are packed full of chemicals and come with a whole long list of additional side effects that they cause".
