This transgender sex worker says she just wants to be left alone to make a living.

A transgender sex worker who identifies as female said she is fearful for her life after being hit with glass bottles allegedly thrown by policemen, days after she demanded payment for 'services' she gave to one of their colleagues.

"I had to run for my life. Mi get lick on mi two foot back and my shoulder. I am being targeted and all I am trying to do is make a honest living because times are hard and I have to pay for the roof over my head," she said.

She told THE STAR that recently she had broken the curfew orders and was on the streets in the Corporate Area when a car approached, driven by a man wearing a police vest and carrying a firearm.

"He asked me what I was doing on the road at that hour and I told him that I was a sex worker doing business and I went to see another client and was heading back home. He asked me if I was a man or woman and I told him I was a transgender and after a little chit-chat, he told me he wanted my services. He also even joked around and asked mi how I resembled a female suh," she said.

She said that they agreed that she would give him oral sex for $3,000, and drove to a secluded spot. She admitted that she did not ask for the money before performing the act.

When they were finished, she said the man told her that he did not have any cash and needed to go to an ATM. He left her at the spot, promising to return, but never did.

HIS BADGE NUMBER

"He gave me a number, his first name and the location where he was stationed. I also saw his badge number because he was wearing a vest. I visited the location where he said he worked for three days straight and it was on the third day that a senior police approached me and I told him the situation and he began to videotape me and told me not to come back there again asking for anyone," she said.

A few nights later, she said that two unmarked vehicles approached her on the street, and men wearing police uniforms alighted and began throwing bottles at her.

"When mi run, dem drive mi down and still a stone mi with the bottle dem. I run and hide under a fruit stall. Shortly after, I saw a marked vehicle and stopped it and explained what happen and one of them say to me 'what yuh expect if unno a guh round tell lie pon police?' and him drive off," she said.

She is begging to be left alone as she does not want to live in fear. She said that she is often on the road because she has to pay a $3,000 fee daily for the guest house that she currently calls home.

"I don't want to live on the streets and I don't rob people. All I want to do is work and get my money but I am really worried and scared for my life because those officers had videotaped me and they know my government name and transgender name," she said.
