Three J’can cops arrested in THE US

Three members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, who are based in the Area One Police Division in St James, were reportedly arrested on drug-related charges in the US on Tuesday afternoon following a drug bust.

Reports are that the three constables, two men and one woman, are facing drug-related charges in the US city of Atlanta.

News also reached THE STAR that two of the constables were supposed to be on active duty at the time of their arrest. They allegedly left the island without the knowledge of their superior officers.

Further reports reaching THE STAR are that on Tuesday afternoon, the four cops arrived in Atlanta on a flight from Jamaica. Upon reaching the security checkpoint, they aroused the suspicions of the airport authorities and were detained.

Further reports are that they were searched, and three of them were found in possession of contraband, which is alleged to be a quantity of cocaine. They were subsequently arrested.
