Sonia Facey, mother of artiste manager and producer Renaldo 'Sticka Fyah' Farquharson, is distraught as she says she has been unable to get any solid information concerning his burial.

Farquharson was shot and killed on February 26 in Tryall Heights, Spanish Town.

According to the lawmen, residents heard shots at Farquharson's house and he was later found lying in a pool of blood, and pronounced dead at the Spanish Town Hospital.

His widow, reggae artiste Safira Mono, whom he also managed, has offered a reward for information on the killing.

Facey said that Mono told them about the autopsy four days after it was done, and said that she has not heard from Mono since then despite calling her "so many times".

"She told me that she would tell me when the burial will be held and I have not heard anything," she said.

Facey, who lives in Manchester, told THE WEEKEND STAR that she had a close relationship with her son.

"We were very close and he would always call me and check to see if things are going well. He was the second of my three children and I loved him dearly," she said.

Go through police channels

Facey said that she had to go through police channels to find out where his body was located. She finally tracked it down at Lyn's Funeral Home in Mandeville.

"I went to Lyn's and I asked about the funeral programme for my son. They said the wife was handling the details and they couldn't divulge any information that could risk a lawsuit being filed against them," she said.

Facey got information that her son was buried at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Her source pointed out a tomb.

"But the name and date of birth and death on it was incorrect. I became instantly confused ... imagine my pain. You have a son that was killed and you did not get to see the body. How would you feel?" she asked.

Lyn's Funeral Home confirmed that the body of a Renaldo Farquharson was buried at Oaklawn.

"I don't know where my son is and this has taken a toll on me, even my youngest son has had to be receiving counselling. Me nuh see me son and me haffi a think all sort of things because me nuh see him body. I can't be at peace until I get some closure," she said.

However, when THE WEEKEND STAR contacted Mono, she said that personal invitations were sent out to Facey via phone calls informing her of the time and place of the funeral.

"I had also arranged for her to have police escort to and from the funeral as we were receiving death threats. She, however, chose not to attend and told her daughter to tell me that they would be sending a wreath instead," said Mono. "At the time when he was buried, only 10 persons were allowed at funerals. I invited her and told her she could take two additional persons."
