Gunmen rob $3.2M from JN Bank, security guard's firearm also stolen

Gunmen this morning invaded and robbed the JN Bank in Whitehouse, Westmoreland of approximately $3.2 million.

The incident occurred at about 11:40 a.m.

In a statement to THE STAR, JN Bank said none of its employees or members of the public who were at the location were harmed, however, an armed Guardsman security guard assigned to the location was injured. The security has since received medical attention.

The security's firearm was also reportedly stolen during the robbery.

The gunmen then fled the scene in a stolen taxi.

JN says the location is currently closed and the police and Guardsman are now on the scene conducting investigations.

It says employees are receiving counselling.
