37-year-old man dies from COVID-19

Jamaica recorded a fourth COVID-19 death in eight days yesterday as the number of cases continue to skyrocket.

There were 20 new cases yesterday, bringing the country's tally thus far to 1,023 cases. .

The newly confirmed cases consist of 14 females and six males with ages ranging from four months to 66 years.

Of the new cases, one is an imported case with an address in St Thomas. Nine are contacts of confirmed cases with two from St Mary and seven from St Thomas.

Meanwhile, the case of the latest COVID fatality, the 14th on the island, the health authorities said that he is a 37-year-old male from St Catherine.

The country is currently managing 206 active cases, including six moderately ill patients.
