Man charged for robbing church

Detectives assigned to the Manchester police have arrested and charged a man for the offence of sacrilege following an incident in Middlesex, Christiana, Manchester on Sunday, August 2.

Charged is 28-year-old Renford Nelson, otherwise called ‘Cruise’, of Wild Cane, St. Ann.

Reports are that about 10:30 a.m., Nelson allegedly broke a glass, forced open a vestry door and entered the church.

According to reports, he then gained entry to a vault and stole several pieces of equipment.

He was however arrested on Monday, August 3 and later charged. 

His court date will be finalised.
