JLP says Holness’s Government better than Manley’s
The Jamaica Labour Party's Central Executive says that the Andrew Holness-led government has been "the most successful government since 1972".
The claim, which was brought in the form of a resolution, was made as the party's second highest decision-making body met to discuss its election readiness in St James on Sunday. In accepting the resolution, the JLP's Central Executive has elevated Holness' JLP, which won power in 2016, above governments led my Michael Manley (1972-80, and 1989 to 92), Edward Seaga (1980-1989), P.J. Patterson (1992- 2005); Portia Simpson Miller 2005-2007 and 2011 to 2016) and Bruce Golding 2007 to 2011.
In the meantime, party functionaries were placed on election readiness by Holness. Party chairman Robert Montague reminded the Central Executive "No seat is immune from loss, and indeed no seat is unwinnable".
