JPS Spanish Town office closed after employee tests positive for COVID

August 15, 2020

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has closed its Spanish Town Road office for deep cleaning after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

According to JPS, confirmation of the positive test was received late yesterday and the worker is in isolation at a Government facility.

The light and power company noted that the employee has not been to work since July 27, but it decided to temporarily close the office for deep cleaning and sanitisation out of an abundance of caution.

It says contact tracing is being accelerated and all team members who have been in close contact with the affected employee will be tested and placed in self-isolation in line with the Ministry of Health & Wellness protocols.
