Five schools across the island are set to benefit from a digital initiative aimed at improving their infrastructure for online schooling or distance learning. Dubbed the '5 for 5' Promotion, which is powered by Malta, through the Desnoes and Geddes (D&G) Foundation, the project will see $500,000 being donated to five schools across the country.

The five winning schools will be selected after two rounds of eliminations. Nominations, which opened on October 23, and ends on Friday, must be done via social media. The 10 schools with the most nominations will then advance to the voting round, which will take place from November 11-25. The top five schools with the most votes will be announced on November 27 and given $500,000 each for their improvement projects.

'This donation is an opportunity for us to show our solidarity with the schools," said D&G Foundation board member Dianne Ashton-Smith.
