Morris Crosdale was a picture of grief when he walked into the STAR offices earlier this week. His eyes were red and swollen from crying. Repeatedly wiping his face with a handkerchief, Crosdale said he is heartbroken from the mysterious death of his 19-year-old son, Maro Crosdale, and the sudden passing of his babymother, Wendy Small.

Maro died last year August and Wendy, Maro's mother, passed on December 13.

Crosdale, who is from Arnett Gardens, St Andrew, said that having scraped out all he had to bury his son, he has no idea where he is going to find money to lay Wendy's body to rest.

The distraught father told THE WEEKEND STAR that it took him seven months to come up with the money to bury Maro, who he said died shortly after consuming a meal. He said that he is awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause of death.

The 40-year-old father hung his head in distress as he revealed that he missed out on a lot in his son's life, having served a 10-year prison sentence for gun charges. He said that he was released two years ago, and has been trying to put his past life behind him.

"Mi stress out until mi don't know what to do. Mi babymother never sick before we son dead. She just never come back to her normal self and she just start get sick, and see, she gone now. Is a broken heart kill her. Is like she dead when him dead," he said.

Crosdale told THE WEEKEND STAR that he tried his hand at chicken-rearing, but said that his business is now at a standstill as he is unable to get any baby chicks for purchase. He is pleading with the public for assistance in burying his common-law wife.

"Mi is a proud man and mi nuh like beg, but mi just need to bury the lady and get little help for her other son. Mi hand mash up bad and it still swell and a pain me," Crosdale said.

"Mi did get some work but mi have to stop because the hand just couldn't manage the pressure. Mi nuh sidung eno, mi start raise chickens but them come to term and mi sell dem and now mi can't get the baby chicks to buy anywhere. Is like everything mi do summen go wrong," he said.
