MoBay businessman charged in connection with multi-million drug bust
A Montego Bay businessman who was on Friday arrested during an anti-narcotics operation along the Flanker main road in St. James, has been charged in connection with the multi-million dollar drug bust.
The police have identified him as Hugh Frazer, a 59-year-old businessman of Westgate Hill, Montego Bay, St. James.
He is scheduled to appear in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday, February 10 to answer to the charges of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, and trafficking cocaine.
Police reports are that on Friday January 29, Frazer was driving a Hyundai motor car and was signalled to stop. He complied; the occupants along with the vehicle were searched, and 11 packages of compressed cocaine, weighing about 11 kilograms, were found.
According to the police the drug has an estimated street value of over JMD 80 million.
